Celebrating Through Giving: Introducing the Dementia Live® Scholarship Program for Dementia-Friendly Initatives
Over the past decade, AGE-u-cate Training Institute has been at the forefront of transforming dementia care through its flagship program, Dementia Live®. This immersive training experience has helped countless caregivers, families, and professionals develop a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those living with dementia. To mark the 10th anniversary of Dementia Live, AGE-u-cate is thrilled to announce a new initiative: the Dementia Live® Scholarship Program for Dementia-Friendly Initiatives.
This program is more than just a celebration of a milestone—it’s a commitment to empowering organizations that share our vision of fostering dementia-friendly communities. Through this scholarship, we’re inviting 10 Dementia-Friendly organizations to bring the transformative power of Dementia Live to their teams and communities at no cost. It’s our way of amplifying the impact of empathy-driven education and supporting those who are making a difference on the frontlines of dementia care.
Why This Matters Now More Than Ever
The need for dementia-friendly communities has never been greater. With more individuals and families navigating the complexities of dementia, there’s an urgent demand for resources that foster understanding, empathy, and support. Dementia Live has proven itself to be a game-changer in this space. By immersing participants in the experience of cognitive and sensory changes, it builds empathy and equips caregivers with the tools they need to provide person-centered care.
Programs like Dementia-Friendly Fort Worth have shown us what’s possible when communities come together with a shared commitment to improving dementia care. With the support of AGE-u-cate’s training and resources, they’ve created a ripple effect of awareness, reducing stigma and inspiring collective action.
A Scholarship Designed for Impact
The Dementia Live Scholarship Program is designed to provide Dementia-Friendly organizations with everything they need to implement this life-changing program. Each selected organization will receive certification for a Dementia Live Coach, who will be trained to lead impactful sessions. They’ll also gain access to a comprehensive gear pack and exclusive educational resources, ensuring that the program is seamlessly integrated into their operations.
But the impact doesn’t stop there. Awardees will be publicly recognized as Dementia Live Program Partners, spotlighting their dedication to advancing dementia awareness and education. This acknowledgment not only strengthens their reputation within the greater community but also reinforces their role as leaders in creating compassionate, inclusive environments.
A Commitment to Progress
At its core, this scholarship reflects AGE-u-cate’s decade-long commitment to equipping organizations with practical, evidence-informed tools that make a tangible difference. We’ve seen firsthand how Dementia Live changes lives, from reducing stress reactions in individuals living with dementia to fostering deeper connections between caregivers and those they serve. By offering this program to more organizations, we aim to extend that impact even further.
The application process is simple, and we encourage any organization dedicated to dementia-friendly initiatives to apply. Whether you’re a non-profit, a member of Dementia-Friendly America, or collaborating with a state initiative, this is an opportunity to take your efforts to the next level.
Looking to the Future
As we celebrate 10 years of Dementia Live, we’re also looking ahead to the future. Our mission has always been about more than just education—it’s about creating a world where empathy and understanding guide the way we care for individuals living with dementia. The Dementia Live Scholarship Program for Dementia-Friendly Initiatives is a step toward that vision, and we invite you to be part of it.
Applications are open until February 28th, and awardees will be announced by March 31st. Don’t miss this chance to bring a proven program to your organization and transform the way your community approaches dementia care.
Together, we can build a future where every community is dementia-friendly.
