This year, AGE-u-cate™ Training Institute is proud to celebrate two major milestones: 13 years of empowering caregivers and communities, and 10 transformative years of our flagship program, Dementia Live®. These milestones reflect not only a commitment to excellence but also the profound impact we’ve had on dementia education and care across the globe.
A Vision for Empathy and Understanding
When AGE-u-cate was founded over a decade ago, the goal was clear: to bridge the gap in dementia education through innovative, experiential learning. Dementia Live was born out of this vision, offering a groundbreaking simulation experience designed to immerse participants in the sensory and cognitive challenges faced by those living with dementia.
From its inception, Dementia Live has been more than just a training program. It’s a journey of empathy, equipping caregivers, healthcare professionals, and communities with the tools to understand and support individuals living with dementia.
The Impact: Stories and Statistics
Over the past 10 years, Dementia Live has reached millions of participants worldwide, transforming how caregivers approach their roles. Here are just a few ways the program has made an impact:
One caregiver shared, “Dementia Live completely changed how I connect with my loved one. It gave me the tools to understand their world, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.”
Looking Ahead: Innovations in Caregiving
As we celebrate 10 years of Dementia Live, we’re also looking toward the future. AGE-u-cate remains committed to expanding our reach, particularly in underserved communities where dementia education is critically needed. New initiatives, including digital learning tools and expanded partnerships, are paving the way for even greater impact.
This milestone year also aligns with another special event: the upcoming screening of Taking Care, a documentary that explores the heart and resilience of caregiving. This screening is more than a celebration; it’s a call to action to support and uplift caregivers everywhere.
A Special Celebration: Taking Care Screening
To commemorate 10 years of transforming dementia care, we’re thrilled to present a free screening of the powerful documentary, Taking Care. This heartfelt film, executive produced by Lauren Miller Rogen and Seth Rogen of Hilarity for Charity, explores the often unseen challenges and triumphs of caregiving, shedding light on the resilience and dedication of those who care for others.
The screening will be available on-demand on February 12, followed by a live webinar on February 19 at 1 p.m. CST, featuring Bonnie Wattles, Executive Director of Hilarity for Charity. In this interactive session, Bonnie will share her insights into the caregiving journey, discuss the themes of the documentary, and provide practical advice for caregivers everywhere.
